Washington (AP) Diggs and his colleagues at Diggs Diner, in the heart of the nation’s capital, are trying to figure out how to attack President Donald Trump on the economy, climate change and his border wall.
The menu includes a selection of “dish-sized salads” from Diggs’ new restaurant, a fresh-made burger and grilled chicken sandwich, and a choice of a steak with fries or salad.
Diggs said he has received some backlash from his customers for making the change, but said he doesn’t plan to take any heat.
“I’m going to keep doing what I do,” he said.
Digs has served the Washington area for nearly 50 years and has served more than 700 diners in its three decades of existence.
It is owned by an anonymous billionaire who has also built a number of other businesses in the city.
The restaurant is expected to open by the end of the year.
The menu is expected be expanded to include items such as steaks and burgers made with pork or beef and chicken, along with items such a smoked turkey burger and fried chicken sandwiches.
“It’s really exciting to see so many people come in from the Midwest and beyond,” Diggs said.
