I know, I know.
Cheese is a lot more complicated than that.
But here’s what you need to know about making your own cheese pizza.
What you need:IngredientsFor the crust:1 package of salami 1/2 cup butter 1/4 cup cream 1 tablespoon cream cheese, softened 1/3 cup grated parmesan 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup sour cream (or any cheese sauce)1 egg1/2 teaspoon garlic powder1/4 teaspoon pepper 1/8 teaspoon salt1/8 cup grating cheese (or other cheese sauce for pizza crust)1/3 pound (1 stick) sharp cheddar cheese (optional)1 1/16 cups flour (or more if desired)1 cup milk (for the dough)1 package grated cheese (to make the crust)DirectionsIn a large bowl, combine salami, butter, cream cheese and cream cheese until well blended.
In a medium bowl, beat egg, garlic powder, pepper, salt, sour cream, and cheese until combined.
Add flour, milk, cheese, and mix well.
Add the dough to the wet ingredients and mix to combine.
Divide the dough into 4 pieces.
Roll each piece into a log shape, then wrap each piece in plastic wrap.
Place the log on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper.
Set the sheet pan on a flat surface.
Bake for about 20 minutes.
The longer the dough, the better the crust will be.
If the dough starts to stick, add more flour.
If it doesn’t stick, bake for about 10 minutes.
Cool on a wire rack.
While the dough is baking, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Once melted, add the cheese and mix until smooth.
Add grated Parmesan and mix again.
Add eggs and mix for about 1 minute.
Remove from heat.
Pour the cheese sauce over the cheese dough and roll the dough.
Place on a cookie sheet.
Top with sour cream and cheese.
Cut the log into 3 pieces and bake for 10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Serve hot.
